Obituary of George Schmitt

George Schmitt 59, of Basking Ridge, NJ died peacefully at home on Friday April 29, 2016. Born in Jamaica, Queens NY on October 29,1956. George received a Bachelors Degree from College of St. Elizabeth in NJ. After a 30 year career at AT&T where he managed several facilities, he most recently worked as a Supervisor at Johnson Controls. He was a member of the 13 Rebels Motorcycle Club, Kahuna Softball Team, AT&T Golf League and was active in the "Kelsey Run" Charity. He loved riding his Harley, golf, music, skiing, traveling and frequent visits to "Espos" in Raritan NJ. He is survived by his loving wife Melissa (Wilkins), his mother Loretta Schmitt (Magner) and father the late George C Schmitt, two brothers Steven and his wife Lina, Thomas and his wife Alicia, two sisters Eileen, Patricia Albertson and her husband Scott. Nieces and nephews Bradley, Brianna, Emily, Evan, Hanna, Hayley, Julia, Lauren, Paige, Richie, Scotty, Stephanie, Thomas, Zachary. and his beloved pets Cheech and Chong. Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge NJ 07920. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016, 11:00am at St James Church, South Finley Ave. Basking Ridge NJ 07920.
