I will miss you Al. You and Terry are my adopted Aunt & Uncle. That is how you got into ICU to see me, by telling the hospital staff that you & Terry were my Uncle & Aunt. You will always be in my heart. xoxo Chris

Uncle Al,
I remember as a little boy, before the age of five going over to your house for the weekend. My brother and I would play with dominoes and your German Sherpherd. I remember one dinner mixing rice and beans to make it look more like dog food. It tasted sooo good. I also remember going up to Maine and catching my first fish. You were parts of these great moments as a kid.
As a parent of a five year old, I understand how much those trips meant to my mother, Siriwan. You guys always were willing to help her out by watching us for an hour or for a few days. Thank you for being such a kind soul and opening up your heart to our family. You will be missed.
Lots of love,
Ron Gaulden

Aunt Terry,
I was really so sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Al. I am very grateful that he was a part of my life. I'm glad that we recently had some wonderful laughs together! He also made the best raisin bread! I will always cherish the memories.

Dearest Terry,
You and your beloved husband Albert never missed a Christmas or birthday of my son Cooper's since the day he was born. I am not even sure how exactly we are related - I think my dad Wally was Albert's second cousin, making Albert my third cousin...something like that. The point to make is that I have very close relatives who do not send my son gifts - especially such thoughtful ones. The subscription to National Geographic Journal was so thoughtful. Cooper loves reading it each month and I will continue the subscription for him for years to come.
I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Sixty two years of marriage on this earth is such a blessing and your heart will continue counting the years from here on out.
All my love,
Susan

I'm going to miss Al Schmidt, one of the finest, most decent and, along with his wife, my Aunt Terry, most truly God-ful people I have ever known. I'll miss his humor, his wisdom, his insight, his guiding hand, his cantankerousness, his hospitality, his culinary skills, that sonorous voice, and, most of all, his friendship. Al Schmidt was one of my great mentors, a truly giving man who made the world better. I'll miss you, Uncle Al.
