I served with Alan on an arbitration panel in 2005. He was a gentleman, a lawyer of the old school. He treated me as an equal through I was much younger. We enjoyed each others company and the fact that we had Fordham Law School in common. My mother (who passed away this summer at 99) and I bumped into Alan and his wife in a restaurant in Bernardsville several years ago and he couldn't have been nicer. My thoughts are with Alan's family.
