Obituary of Peter Ebbe

Peter Michael Ebbe Beloved husband, father, dedicated teacher and volunteer Peter Michael Ebbe, 72, of Basking Ridge, NJ suddenly passed away Dec. 20, 2015. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ from 4:00 - 6:30pm. Funeral Service will follow at 6:30pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family. Peter was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, moved to Colusa, CA and later to Paradise, CA. He graduated from the University of California at Chico with a degree in Physical Education. Later he moved to NJ to begin his career in teaching as a physical education teacher at Maplewood Middle School retiring in 2003. He continued to work and got a job with Camalot Builders of Basking Ridge. Peter served in the Army Reserves. He volunteered for the Tower Club Christmas tree sales at Bishop Janes United Methodist Church for many years. He loved working at the Somerset County Food Bank and helped organize the back pack program. He has also volunteered for the Visiting Nurse Association Rummage sale in Far Hill for several years. In All these places he met many wonderful people and made great friends. He loved fly fishing in the Adirondacks and catching halibut off the coast of Alaska. Peter is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Ebbe of 45 years, his son Christian Ebbe of Wilmington, NC and his daughter, Stacy Ebbe of Bedminster, NJ. He will be missed by many for his devotion to family and his dedication to whatever he did. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bishop Janes United Methodist Church memorial fund, The Somerset County Food Bank, or the Bernards Township Rescue Squad.
