My condolences to the family. Pete and I worked together at MMS for many years. I will always remember this man for the wonderful human being that he was. Losing a loved one is not something we ever get over, but it is something that we learn to live with. Thank you for sharing him with us!

I read the obituary and realized that Peter Ebbe had been my geography teacher at Edison Jr. High School in West Orange, N.J. in 1968-1969. He was a great teacher as I still remember him. He always talked about his first date and his mom slipping him a dollar. I think he drove a green Mercury Cougar at the time. Sadly, he was gone the next year as he was hired due to another teacher taking a sabbatical. He was a very honest and decent person and one of the few teachers who I remember close to 50 years later. It says a lot about the man. My condolences. It sounds like he had a great life. Gone too soon.

May the peace of God be with Gloria, his children and family. I laughed and shared many a good moment with Pete at MJH and MMS. He was a wonderful colleague, good father, and overall fine man. I will miss him. Rest in peace my dear friend. The Lord be with you all.

I worked with Pete at Maplewood Middle School during the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 school years. We shared an office and I remember Pete was always calm and easygoing. I wasn't a rookie teacher when I met Pete but I had to teach gymnastics at Maplewood Middle School, something I'd never done and feared having to do. Pete, the gymnastics guru that he was, was generous in his time and with sharing his expertise to help me acquire the knowledge and skills I needed to successfully teach the unit. And, that's what I remember of him most. He was kind, patient, generous and good-natured. I saw him last June 2015, at another colleague's retirement party, and he looked good. It was a shock to hear of his passing and I will cherish having worked with him and getting to know him a little. My condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
