Obituary of Edith A Roser

Edith A. Roser of Basking Ridge, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was 94 years old. Born in Zwickau Germany, she grew up in West Orange. She married her husband John A. Roser, Sr. in 1942; they lived in Green Village before residing in Basking Ridge for 46 years. Edith had a servant's heart and was an active parishioner of the United Methodist Church of Green Village and Basking Ridge. She was a member of the Chancel Choir, the United Methodist Women's Association, and the Piecemakers. Her ministries included knitting confirmation prayer shawls for the youth of the church, working with the homeless in the Interfaith Hospitality program, and serving at Library Luncheons and the Home Spun Holiday Baazar. In addition, she knitted post-op blankets for the children whose lives were changed by the overseas ministry with Operation Smile. Edith loved the outdoors, enjoyed gardening and bird watching, as well as teaching all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to swim at her Basking Ridge home. She hosted innumerable dinners and parties for family and friends. Summers were "Camp Nani" to her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her five children, John A. Roser, Jr. of Far Hills; Richard A. Roser, Sr. of Cape Cod, Mass.; Nancy E. Stulack of Basking Ridge; George F. Roser of Bernardsville and Roberta L. Roser of Gladstone; a brother Charles A. Friedrich of Yarmouth, Maine and two sisters Lorraine F. Reichert of Schykill Haven, Pennsylvania, and Marge Keary of Westbrook, Maine. She is also survived and loved by her ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Sally J.
