My condolences to all of you for the passing of Van. He and Betty were my godparents, and while we only saw each other sporadically, it was always a pleasure when those occasions did occur. The two of you, and the girls, are/were just top-notch folks, the best of the best, all the elements of what the greatest generation was, is, and produced. I know my dad loved all of you, and of course he grew up with Van as a contemporary and would speak of all the good times they enjoyed together as children when the whole family could come together. A life well lived and a good legacy, God speed, Van Boughton, God speed.

What wonderful memories we share...Thanksgiving dinners, skiing, touring Italy...we still only eat Barillo Pasta...I remember him spending time with my children and the patience he showed...my children and I will never forget our run-in with the Red Brigade in Milan..Venice....and of course, his beautiful gardens, and oh, I almost forgot our Fiat dying in the mountains on the way to Pisa and the Italian mechanic repairing it with newspapers! No heat in our apartment because it was too early in the year for the heating oil to be delivered...It was so good to see him stateside, ski with the family and catch up on family news. I could go on and on. So much as come to mind the last few days.
What an amazing man and what a wonderful life and family. I feel very privilege and lucky to have known him so well and enjoy so many wonderful moments
You know I share your loss.
What a great family we have.
