Dad,
There is soo much to say, but for right now I want you to know that you were the most amazing father that I could have ever wished for.I want you to know that the gift you gave me before you left was the most amazing feeling I think I could have ever felt.Just when we thought it was close to saying good bye for now, you opened your eyes, looked at your granddaughter Amelia ,and had on a smile that light up the room, as well as my heart. I will always be eternally greatful for that one moment. Dad you will always be missed, but never forgotten.

Dearest Mr. Lombardi-
It is 1am and I cannot sleep. I am so sad about your passing. You were a wonderful man and you will be missed terribly.
I have so many wonderful memories of you and the beautiful family you created:
I remember you taking me out for Chinese food (my first time ever) at Chez Song.
I remember you going to the Dog Tracks and betting money on a “quinella” for Joanna and me. We danced around your living room chanting the numbers for the television channel VH1. ( I think it was 63 or 64) not sure but we were so excited that you said we won!
I remember your Lombardi Refrigeration van and matching shirts. I think I wore one of your shirts and cowboys boots to the Convenient Mart! I might have passed out a business card or two (Uh-Oh!)
I remember you wearing good smelling cologne and getting all dressed up in the nice clothes Gail bought for you.
I remember you taking me to “Rawhyde” to ride the stagecoach and get an ice cream.
I remember you being such a good sport during Joanna’s and my Dante’ Club party for Dads. You and my Dad just wanted to enjoy your beers and each others company, but we wanted you guys to watch cartoons (He-Man or Thunder Cats I think?) All in all, we were so happy you guys were friends for a night.
I remember you introducing my Dad to a mini keg of beer. I think it was a Japanese beer.
I remember your accent and you yelling and whistling for “Bimbo!” throughout the house.
I remember you calling Joanna “Cookie” and how much you adored her.
Most of all, I will always remember your LOVE for Gail. You took such good care of her and always treated her with the up most respect. You always appreciated all she did for you and treated her like a princess. She is so lucky to have found a man like you.
You are a true example of a wonderful Husband and Father, a true gem that we will all remember and cherish.
Everlasting Love,
“K.K”

You were the best Nonno to have ever walked this earth. I feel so blessed to have been by your side until the very end. The connection I felt with you before you left was so amazing and one that I will never forget. You could not keep your eyes off of me and that was priceless. I feel so honored have been your grandchild and you will forever be in my heart. You are such an amazing man and one that I will always look up to. You were an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. Keep telling your jokes in heaven. As you would say,"Keep it cool, you are a Lombardi!"

I will always remember your sense of humor and your caring heart. You were a great friend to Jimmy and me. I remember how kind you were to come all the way down the shore to put air conditioning in our home on a momments notice because we needed it for Michelle's baby shower. The week of the shower was the hottest days of the year and you saved the party. The time you and Gail made an Italian feast for us at your lovely home. We felt the love so strongly that when we left I cried all the way home not wanting to leave you guys. It happened to be the last time we saw you. I will never forget it. It was such a beautiful day.

I only have the fondest memories of Marcello coming onto the trading desk to visit. It was always with a huge smile and a warm hello, that was much louder than it should have been. He always had a smile on his face, but nothing made him smile more than when he talked about his family. The love he had for his wife and children always showed through. I will miss his big smile and hearty hand shakes. May his memory always be a blessing and may the family know of no more sorrow. Love,

Marcello my friend we go back so many years, remember you took my son to the doctors for me yes 50 years ago, did I really say that, where has all that time gone seems like yesterday. I went to see you and Gail in Arizona we had such a fun time that huge cactus I took a picture in front of . Remember all the brass I bought. I was so excited to get it home , but the airlines lost my brass when I called you to tell you all you did was laugh and laugh that has been a story you always brought up through our conversations. You always taught me about Italian wines, and cooking and teased me about everything you could (that was a thing between us) so much to talk about but can't anymore, so I will always remember you and you will be forever in my heart. One more memory, you use to say Peggi let me know when you are coming to visit again, I'll make sure I'm not home and I'll change my zip code, but this time Marcello, you cant change it I know where you are,Rest in peace till we met again!!! Love You xoxoxo

What can we say, Marcello was a special friend who was kind, generous, extremely funny and so fun loving. We had the pleasure of spending a few Christmas Eves with the Lombardis and needless to say they were special, we were treated like part of their family, and always had so much fun. My family truly cherished his friendship and will forever keep him and his family in our hearts. Marcello gave me a special gift a few weeks ago when I visited him and Gail, we had such a beautiful conversation about his life, his family and how much he loved Gail, his children and grandchildren and life itself. Everywhere he went, whether it was the Kings in Bedminster where he shopped, Brighton Gardens where Gail works or the Lord and Taylor where we used to work together, people all got to know him and couldn’t wait to see him. He always had such a wonderful smile and personality and could brighten anyone’s day.
We are so blessed to have known Marcello and will forever be grateful for his kind heart and friendship.
We love him and he will never be forgotten.

Martello was quite a character; a true gentleman with a generous spirit and a playful wit. He, and his loving family, touched me deeply. I know that he will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
