My thoughts and prayers go out to the Cavanaugh family. As a child visiting my Oma who lived next door, I always looked forward to seeing the Cavanaugh's every Christmas.

Bob was my mentor, my neighbor, my friend. He took me under his wing at American Hoechst Corp. where he was revered and loved for many years, and Hopefully I lived up to his support for me. I loved Bob Cavanaugh like a second father and his family like it was mine. God Bless you all and take solace in the fact our dads are once again together! Love, Peter

I just now learned of Bob's passing and I am deeply saddened. Bob hired me on 1/26/76 to work in his Personnel department at American Hoechst. It was the beginning of a long and fruitful career until my retirement in March of 2108. Bob was both fair and compassionate in his dealings with all and had the best sense of humor and a pretty good singing voice as well. My condolences to his loving family. He is and will
remain one of the kindest and and most influential people I've ever known.

My condolences to the Cavanaugh Family. I was a member of the Goltra Drive Gang friend to Mike, welcomed neighborhood kid to the house and hospitality offered by Mrs. Cavanaugh. Mr Cavanaugh's smile, laugh and joy for life was infectious to this neighborhood kid just entering early adulthood. My quick story, I had been looking for work in the seventies and after along day of interviews and rejections, I had one stop left on the list. My frustration and plain tiredness led to me getting in a heated argument with the interviewer and escorted off property by their security team. Arriving home, I saw Mr. Cavanaugh and related the events of the day. I wish I had spoken to him prior to my poor experience at American Hoecst.
RIP Mr. Cavanaugh

Dear Karen, Helen and Michael
Your Father was such a nice man. I remember him from American Hoechst. He worked very closely with Dieter Poetzsch in ICD, which is where I started in 1975. I left the company once to work at AT&T and hated it after 2 days. I came back, and Mr. Poetzsch called your Father to ask if he could do the paperwork so I could return. I was marked out for 2 unpaid personal days! I remember your Dad was always smiling!
