During my time at Bernards High, 1966-1969, Miss Young was a wonderful, kind and knowledgeable part of my days. The library was so well run by her and I remember appreciating her gentle ways. I am sorry to see her go and wish her peace.

We were blessed to have Miss Mary come to our home and teach our three children harp for many years. She gave them a foundation in their study of music. She was dedicated to her students and invested in them diligently. We thank the Lord for that experience and all that was learned during those times.

Mary Elizabeth was my harp teacher for four years. I have many fond memories of her. "The rules never change" and "There is power in the thumb!" are just a few of the many statements she made during our harp lessons. She was very active in our community and made a difference in so many lives. Tewksbury, Califon, Fairmount, as well as the state of New Jersey, is the better off because of Mary Elizabeth Young.

So many lovely memories of this wonderful, fun lady that we all called the "Ever Ready Battery" because she never slowed down or missed an event. Her harp expertise is a memory which we were honored to experience as well as her organ recitals and piano recitals as well.
Additionally, a group of us "Dominoe Girls" enjoyed many years of her hospitality in Vermont. So many good memories of a remarkable and wonderful lady who literally never stopped giving of herself to others. We are more than grateful to have known her and will miss her very much.

Mary Elizabeth will be missed. She touched our lives through her music, and her harp carrying car which stopped often at Fairmount Sunoco for tune ups and fuel. What a gift to us for her having touched our lives. In gratitude and thankfulness.

As a fairly new part-time employee at Morristown-Morris Township Public Library, I didn't know Mary Elizabeth as well as many staff members at the libary, but she always had a smile on her face when I did see her, and her face lit up when she talked about playing the harp. A lovely lady, and the staff here will miss her very much.

Mary Elizabeth was such a busy lady and she had so much fun with all her projects. I got to know her from the National Society of Arts & Letters and she encouraged me to join DAR. She was the consumate host for picnics in her historic carriage house and we enjoyed going to the Hunt with her. Steve and I will miss her dearly. Our deepest condolences to Elinor and her family.

RIP Ms Young. I can look back now and see her passion and dedication and she ran the BHS library like a well-oiled machine.
I remember one time when I was getting into weight lifting and the Shot Put, she ordered a bunch of books on the topic without me even asking; because she thought they might help me be a better athlete. Very thoughtful.

My condolences to the family, who are in our thoughts and prayers. Miss Young was one of my favorite teachers at Bernards High (Class '64) and influenced me to become a high school teacher myself. I've recently retired after a 38-year career. Miss Young will live on in our hearts.

Miss Young was one of my teachers when I was Grammar (middle) School in Bernardsville. We also attended the same church where she played the harp. She was a wonderful and kind person, a great teacher, and I have the fondest memories of her.
