Ken was born in Quincy, FL to Hilda and Lamar Massey on January 21, 1959.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of
Florida College of Pharmacy in 1982 and went on to earn his Doctor of
Pharmacy degree from the same school in 1984. Following several years in
clinical practice at St. Jude’s Hospital and academia at the University of
Tennessee, Ken worked for almost 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry,
most recently at CorMedix, Inc. as the Senior Vice President of Medical
Affairs. In addition to the expertise, knowledge and insights Ken brought to
his work, it was his humility and compassion for the patient journey that was
so meaningful and inspiring to those around him.

Ken was passionate about the Florida Gators and proudly represented his
loyalty with various memorabilia placed conspicuously around the house,

commemorative license plates, and a mostly blue and orange wardrobe. He
was also a dedicated Pingry High School soccer fan and loved watching his
son Alex and his teammates play from his comfortable perch atop the hill
overlooking the Bugliari World Cup Soccer Field. His daughter Maddie
convinced him to occasionally wear her Clemson Tiger orange, but only if the
Gators were not playing that day.

Ken is survived by his wife of 22 years Jill; children Erica Beneduce (Jayson),
Madison Massey, and Alex Massey; grandson JJ Beneduce; sisters Lynn Massey
Watson (Mark), Rebecca Massey O’Donovan (Cormac), nieces Lindsey Geihsler
(Greg), Stephanie Yeargin, Jenna Vittorioso (Matt), Katherine Yasavolian
(Matt), Emily Shaffner (Mickey), Katie O’Donovan, and Maura O’Donovan; and
many treasured grand nieces, grand nephews and in laws. Ken is preceded in
death by his mother Hilda Blount Massey, father Cordy Lamar Massey, and his
nephews Dominic O’Neill and Briggs O’Neill.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Susan Slovin, M.D., of
Memorial Sloan Kettering, for valiantly fighting with and for Ken to give us
more time with him than we anticipated, and to his sister, Becca O’Donovan,
for her most generous gift of a kidney donation.

We are eternally grateful to our family and friends for making Ken’s life so
beautiful and full. He died as he lived, everyone’s friend. In our hearts and
minds, his memory will always be kept as the one we all loved and will never
forget.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dr. Susan Slovin
Research Fund, MSKCC Development Office, P.O. Box 27106, New York, NY
10087.
