Jack was a real leader at NJ Bell. I had the joy of working with him when I was the VP Sales in 1984-5. He gave me the "insight" into the sales game. His integrity and good humor were his trademark. I always knew him as a wonderful person and am very sorry to learn of his passing.

Uncle Jack will always be remembered as the true definition of a gentleman. He was accomplished, humble, kind and always a joy to be around. I will fondly remember the conversations I had with Uncle Jack and Aunt Ruth and consider myself blessed that.I was able to grow up knowing them. Ruth and Girls
Sincerest condolences on the loss of a wonderful man!
I remember with fondness how you invited this new fresh out college high school band director from Wisconsin into your home for enjoyable Shiels’ family dinners with wonderful conversation
I also recall how I looked up to, respected and admired Jack as he provided me with guidance and mentoring as we built the Glen Ridge High School Band program
Jack and Ruth represented everything that is good about marriage and family
Just an outstanding man who was inherently good and always giving back on so many levels
I will be away next week but wanted you to know I am thinking about your family at this sad time
RIP Jack You left this world in a better place you were a class act in so many thoughtful and wonderful ways
