Obituary of Clarissa H Krumbiegel

Clarissa H. Krumbiegel, 98, of Bernardsville passed away on Dec 11, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center. Mrs. Krumbiegel, as she was known by her former students, was a beloved substitute teacher for the Bernardsville High School for 48 years. The love of teaching was apparent by her infectious smile that greeted each student that was lucky enough to have her substitute their class. She retired in Jan 2020 due to the pandemic, leaving an enormous void at the high school. Clarissa came to the United States in 1946 as a war bride, marrying the late Harry Krumbiegel in 1948. She and Harry built a home in Bernardsville where they raised their two children and she remained in the same home for 73 years. She was born in Kremenchuk, Ukraine in 1923 to her parents Nickoli and Efronsia Sakapay. Mrs. Krumbiegel received her education from Breslau University in Poland and Morris County College. Mrs. Krumbiegel is survived by her daughter Larissa Krumbiegel and her significant other Kevin Hornish, Morristown, NJ. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Harry(2005) and son John(1995), and her furry companion Jake in 2020. A visitation will be held on Dec. 18, 2021 10:00am-11:00am At Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ a Celebration of Life service will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:15am at the funeral home.
