Obituary of Scott Edwin Schachter

Scott Edwin Schachter, 29, of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 17, 2020. Scott was a beloved son, brother,nephew,cousin and friend. He was born in Morristown and was a life long resident of Basking Ridge. In 2009, he graduated Ridge High School. He was an outstanding athlete in basketball, baseball and football. During his senior year he was co-captain of his varsity football team. He received a scholarship to play football at Marist College, Poughkeepsie N.Y. as a linebacker and long snapper. A proud moment was his internship at the Center for Enhanced Performance at the US Military Academy at West Point. Another accomplishment was as athletic director working with special needs children and adults through the Somerset County Park Commission Therapeutic Recreation program. After college he had a sales career in New York city. He is survived by his loving parents, Mary Ann and Jeffrey, his beloved brother Jonathan,and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His memory will ever remain with his family and friends. His legacy will continue through his organ donations. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Somerset County Park Foundation earmarked for Therapeutic Recreation scholarships would be greatly appreciated.
