Obituary of James R Wallace

James R. Wallace, 61, of Millington, NJ, died June 14, 2019, after a brief illness. He was a graduate of Ridge High School, Class of 1975.  He attended Ursinus College and graduated from NJIT in 1994 with a bachelor of architecture degree.  Jim was a cycling enthusiast and participated in several long-distance cycling events.  He was an avid reader and learner of all things.  A lover of animals, particularly dogs, he was never far from his beloved Morty.  He had a beautiful singing voice, and was a member of the barbershop quartet, Once Over Lightly. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of the Great American Song Book, and especially loved to sing with his brothers.  He appeared in many local theatrical productions to rave reviews.  He worked as a local contractor and was a skilled master carpenter and woodworker.  He was well-known and well-loved throughout the community and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Betsy, son Will, daughter Chrissy, mother Carolyn Wallace, brothers David (Jan), Ralph (Tina), and Hugh (Nancy Jean), sister Linda (David Lowe), numerous nieces and nephews, and his lifelong friend and business partner Jim Halsey.  He was predeceased by his father, Robert W. Wallace. A memorial service will be held at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church, 1 E. Oak St., Basking Ridge, NJ, on June 29, 2019 at 11:00 am.
