Grace,
My memories of Newt are most vivid through my father who just loved Newt. I had the pleasure of meeting a golfer and a mans' man. Always ready to have fun and fun to be with. I always hoped of playing golf with him and simply spending more time getting to really know him.
Tonight I know he is in a beautiful and tranquil place looking down and wising all of us the best.
Would have liked to have known him better.
He will be in our thoughts and prayers as will you Gracey.
Love,
Sharon and Al Natella

It is very common to hear at funeral services that we all want to celebrate the life of a loved one, not to just mourn their passing. Never is this more true than our wish to celebrate Newt's life. He lived life with gusto and shared friendship and love with so many. Yes we will miss Newt, but we surely are better people for having known him, a man with such a big heart. He celebrated life as so few lucky ones can. We will miss you.

We will always cherish our memories of the special friend that we made when you moved into the neighborhood. The instant bond was undeniable as you welcomed us into you wonderful group of friends and family. Newt truly loved people and his laugh and humor was infectious.
We loved the Superbowl parties and watching Newt just enjoy himself. We are so grateful of our most recent memory of our neighborhood St. Patty's day party at our home where Newt got such a kick out of Grace's wonderful pool playing. What a great memory of our last time with such a special and heartwarming man.
We will miss you Newt but you will forever be in our hearts.

Newt truly was a "lover of life" with "a gift of gab". In all of the years I have known him, There was never a person that Newt met and didn't like. People were drawn to his smile and upbeat personality. There is no other like him and he will be missed and loved. Newt stories will become legend.

Since my mom is Newt's sister, I knew the man as Uncle Elmer for most of my life. His father's name was Elmer as well. His mom, my grandmother, found it easier to call all the men in her life Elmer, and so I, too, was addressed as Elmer for years. We all were happy when that era passed and I was Sam again and he became Newt. I have often been told that I look like him and sometimes been told that I act like him, which I took as a compliment no matter how the remark was meant. He brought laughter and genuine affection to the dullest family gatherings ("break a lamp!"), and he connected with my dad, the skinny scholar, through a mutual love of the Baltimore Colts. "Standin' tall and lookin' good; ought to be in Hollywood!" The earliest dirty jokes I can remember understanding were told by Newt. His optimism and zip survived tough business times and lousy marriages, and he truly deserved the happiness and love he found through Grace. He never stopped expressing his sense of wonder at just how lucky he was. Having Tracy and Jessica enter his life was another gift he treasured. As he himself put it on many occasions, "Yer darn tootin', ya gotta like Newton!" Awn-shawn-tay, Newt, awn-shawn-tay. See you 'round the campus.

Dad,
Miss you so much every day. You are always in my thoughts with everything that I do. Words cannot express how much you meant to Tracey, Jessica and myself. I know you are looking down on all of us. I know each and every day you are giving Mom the strength and will to go on. There are no words to explain the void in our lives without you. I feel truly blessed to be your son in law.
Love Always,
Ken
