Dear Phil and family,
We are all so very shocked to hear of the loss of our "Betty Boop"! Though her candle is extinguished, her light will shine in our memories for a very long time. She loved you all so very much!! I remember when I became a grandmother for the first time she was so jealous. We laughed about it and she complained that she wanted to be a grandmother so bad! When the grandchildren did come, she was so full of love and pride and she dedicated her life to them. For a tiny person, she had a giant's heart. Celebrate her life and cherish the blessing of the years God gave her to you. I know we will.

I didn't know Bette but I am a friend and classmate of her sister, Anne. All the Ferrante family are salt of the earth people if they are like Anne! Our world is a sadder place at the loss of another good person. May the God we worship take Bette to Himself and may He give comfort and peace to Bette's family.

Dear Laura and family,
Bette will be missed by so many people, and I have so many memories of growing up together. I remember helping your Mom when she was making ALL those Christmas cookies. She called me "clutz" and we had lots of laughs! So many good times hanging out with Grandma at her house too! Bette was one of a kind! Keep her memories strong for her grandchildren! I love you all and will keep you in my prayers!

I am so shocked and sad to hear of Bette's passing. I was recently at the Bargain Box with my daughter and we so enjoyed catching up with Bette. She was beaming and beautiful and so friendly. Darren and I were your neighbors from Dayton Crescent. Our hearts go out to you Phil and all of your family. With love, Darren and Carla Hugo

Dear Phil, Tara, Laura and all......There are no words to express our sadness and grief for all of you. As a neighbor for 35 years and our friend always, we have only wonderful memories to reflect on. Too many to write here but some of the standouts are Bette teaching me how to cook "real" Italion food, our kids growing up in a wonderful neighborhood and Bette always being the social director. She was a very very special lady and will be missed by all. We love you......Lee & Tom

I have the most wonderful memories of growing up and it was mainly because of our neighborhood and Bette was an integral part of it! She was like a second Mom - i remember putting on shows, great meals, fun sleepovers, sledding on the hill, Ferrante poolhouse, 4th of July parties, Block parties, and the family room. I loved having "Mrs. Saalmuller" as a regular part of my childhood. She was so kind, loving, caring and FUNNY! I cherish my memories and send so much love to Laura,Tara, Mrs. Saalmuller and others. xo

I am so sorry for your family and hope the wonderful memories and knowing how many people your mom touched help just a little to ease your pain. Mrs. Saalmuller was a wonderful part of all of the Bernardsville girls' childhoods. She was always quick with a smile and a joke and put up with alot- from her house to the Ferrante's pool house, she welcomed us all!
