Obituary of Steven R Persak

Steven Raymond Persak, P.E. Beloved Husband and Dad Steven Raymond Persak, 55, of Basking Ridge, passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at Overlook Hospital. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, Basking Ridge. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge. For more Information please contact the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home at 908-766-0250. Born in Passaic, Steven grew up in Wallington, NJ, moved to Linden, and settled in Basking Ridge in 1984. He was a communicant of St. James Church, Basking Ridge. Steven was a Director of Information Technology at Pfizer in Peapack, NJ. In 1977, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Newark College of Engineering with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He earned his Professional Engineering License in 1981 and held a Small Craft Pilots License. Steven was a very devoted father and loving husband. He was a Little League Baseball coach, Eagle Scout Advisor with Liberty Corner Troop 54, member of the Lathe Society, and active with his personal machine shop. An avid Giants fan, he also enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing and time spent with his family in Cape May. Steven is the beloved husband of Darlene and father of Steven and Adam of Basking Ridge. He is also survived by his mother, Helen of Wallington, NJ, brother Carl II and wife Francine of Glen Ridge, nephew Carl III and wife Erin, and niece Allison and husband Stephan.
