Obituary of Gage Dobson

Gage Dobson, August 27, 2002 - February 28, 2017 Gage, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, left us Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Gage was a shining bright light, and now the world is less bright without him. Gage touched the lives of many and will be remembered by family and friends for his warm contagious smile, his sense of humor and a generosity of spirit which belied his young age. Gage was a gentle and kind soul who approached the world with his heart on his sleeve. To meet Gage was to like him, to know Gage was to love him. He was never afraid to be who he was, "I am Gage I said". Gage enjoyed playing soccer, playing in the ocean at the beach, endless gaming with his friends, reading insatiably, spending time with his family and friends, and giving and receiving hugs. Gage was generous with his family and friends, wiling to give anyone anything he had upon a simple request. Gage volunteered his time as a P.E.C. mentor for children with special needs in their soccer program for three seasons. Gage's caring nature led him to have many pets that he loved dearly throughout his short life. Gage lived his life by a certain code and set of rules. He was a fierce and loyal defender of what he thought was right and fair. In his defense of what was right, Gage was brave enough to make himself vulnerable. That openness and vulnerability were part of his special charm. Gage is survived by his loving family, parents Laurie and Bill, and brother Zach. Gage is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Herb and Judy Jager; paternal grandparents, John and Joan Dobson; Aunts and Uncles: Eric and Lisa Jager, Jack Dobson, Bob and Michelle Dobson, Joanne and Henry Adkins; cousins: Matthew Jager; Kerri and Craig Dobson; Henry and Billy Adkins; Ashton and Jake Dobson, and extended family, and our beloved dog Blaze. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at St. James Chapel, 184 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge NJ, from 12:30-4:30pm. Eulogy will be at 3:00pm.
