Obituary of Harry Lee
Harry Vernon "Trip" Lee III, 69, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 with his wife of 31 years, Judy, by his side.
Trip grew up in Mt. Lakes and graduated from Mt. Lakes H.S. He and Judy have been residents of Basking Ridge since 1985.
Most recently, Trip had been a salesman employed at Beisler-Weidmann Co., a manufacturer and distributor of packaging materials, specialty shipping cartons, and janitorial supplies.
However, Trip's real passion was mechanical engineering and he was a true master craftsman of machine parts. Trip was a member of the BMW Car Club of America since 1975, and his love of automobiles, their care and operation, combined with his engineering skill, led to his becoming a nationally-renowned source for the repair and fabrication of many parts for BMW automobiles.
He was also an instructor for BMWCCA at many of their drivers' school events held at various race tracks across the country and was the Head Instructor for the New Jersey Chapter of BMWCCA. Trip won many awards for his driving expertise at the local, national, and international levels.
Trip enjoyed skiing and playing golf, being outdoors, following Formula I racing, and spending time with friends.
A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at lls.org. For further information, or to light an online condolence candle please visit www.gcfuneralhome.com
