Obituary of Ruth B Smith

Rut h B. Smith, 102, of Basking Ridge passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Fellowship Village. Ruth was born in Staten Island, NY and moved to Mountainside before settling in Basking Ridge in 1959. She loved to spend her time shopping, and was an avid tea cup collector. Ruth especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and acquired the nick name "sweetie-pie". Ruth is predeceased by her loving husband E.H. Smith in 1995, her two sons Robert in 1998, and Ronald in 1991, her daughter Suzanne in 2002, and a grandchild Robert. Ruth is survived by her son Edward and wife Helen of Surry, NH. Three grandchildren, Catherine Marie Smith, Rebecca Russo, Sandra Pappajohn. Also, survived by three great grandchildren, Jillian Russo, Annie Russo, and Nat Russo. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016, 9:00am at Mountain Ridge Bible Chapel, 763 Mountain Ave, Berkeley Heights, NJ. Interment will follow Somerset Hills Memorial Park.
