Obituary of William Donzeiser

77, U.S. ATTORNEY with an great love for the USA and children William "Bill" Donzeiser III died on October,15, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was the much loved husband of his wife, Barbara, and a devoted father to his daughter, Deborah and son William IV. He was blessed to have 5 grandchildren: Alexander, Ryan, Lily, Will and Reilly and relished times watching their sports and school activities. Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY, graduating from Brooklyn Technical High School after which at the age of 16 he went on to Georgia Tech and Fairleigh Dickinson University where he graduated with honors. He received a Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School and worked for Legal Services before taking a position with the US Government as an attorney where he retired after 37 years of distinguished service. Bill felt so truly honored to be a citizen of the USA and encouraged all to search for and buy American products. He would go throughout Basking Ridge randomly placing American flags to remind others how great our country is. He designed and selected the materials to construct the American flag monument at the War Memorial Field in Basking Ridge and was thrilled when the Township approved its construction. He enjoyed watching children play outside and for 17 years was a member of the Bernards Township Parks and Recreation Committee during its procurement of three of the Township's parks where all could enjoy sports and nature. Bill entertained children and adults with his magic tricks and jokes; a smile or a laugh being his reward. He delighted in hearing the laughter and antics of children and was known for handing out treats to kids in the neighborhood. Bill was a man of ethics with a love for God, country, family and children. His passing will be felt by many.
