Obituary of Marion Else Bass

Marion Else Bass, 77 of Bernardsville, NJ passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at her home. Marion was born and raised in Oldenburg, Germany before moving to Bernardsville, NJ at the age of 19. Marion completed her basic education in Germany then graduated from the University of Cincinnati. Mrs. Bass was an accomplished artist in the mediums of painting, decorating, sewing, and knitting. She was also a member of the International Club. Marion is survived by her beloved husband, Walter Bass of 33 years; children Ellen McShane and husband Alan of Stockton, NJ, Ellen Bates and husband Brian of Moorestown, NJ, Chrissy Hofbeck and husband Keith of Lebanon, NJ. Also surviving are her 8 grandchildren, Emily, Aiden, Adam, Julia, David, Andrew, Mike, and Elise, her 9 in laws which she looked at as her own siblings. She was predeceased by her 2 brother-in-laws. Visitation will be held on Friday September 30, 2016 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ from 10:00 – 12:00 pm. Funeral Service will follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Bernards Cemetery, Bernardsville.
