To Brian, Peter, Laura and all of the family, Pete was one of the most delightful, funny and loving men I've ever had the privilege of knowing. So very sorry for your loss. The world is a poorer place without Pete.

Sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. Although it has been 15 years since we left Basking Ridge, I still have many found memories of both of your parents. Swimming with your Mom and playing poker with your Dad were real treats. And many a good day (and night) selling Christmas trees with your dad and Dave Dutcher are also very warm memories. I know that Peter had a rough last few years, but he's at peace and for that you all can be thankful. All the best,
Ron and Nancy Brink (Addison Drive)

I knew Pete from the Lyons train station. I will always remember the twinkle in his blue eyes. He was a good friend to all. I'm sure he is at peace and will be missed by all. The train station won't be the same without him.

Courage and stamina took on a whole new meaning in thinking of Pete. A classic gentleman and loyal friend to many of us. Our family was blessed by his friendship. May loving and special memories lessen the grief of Laura, Peter, Brian and family. Surely, Pete and Carolyn now rest in the peace and comfort of their heavenly reward. Pete, you are missed, but, always in our hearts. May God bless all of you with comfort in the days ahead. We send heartfelt sympathy with love and gratitude,
Sandy and Sandra

My grandfather once told me, "Kid, if they don't tell stories about you after you're gone, you weren't worth a ___." By that measure, Peter Hockmeyer was the richest man in America. I have countless memories of subverting the objectives of Welcome Wagon, redefining the ideals of Indian Guides, revising the strategies of the New York Giants, and reclaiming hundreds of golf balls from the depths of the Caribbean. He was one of a kind -- sui generis.
He was funny, too ... I will always miss him, and I will always laugh when I think of him. You have my sympathy, and we all have our loss to bear -- but he has your Mom now, so I figure he wins. And so does she, after waiting so patiently. I hope that thought provides you with some comfort.

Brian and I were best friends growing up. When I wasn't at my house I was at the Hockmeyer house. I would walk right in and tell ," Hi mom and dad!" They would laugh and say "Hi son number 3!" They were such fun to be around. Even if there was total chaos in the house with animals and kids everywhere there was always laughter and love. I'm happy for Mr. H now that he gets to be with his beloved wife again, but my heart is broken for those left to remember him until we all meet again one day. Mr. H was a man of few words but when he spoke you knew to listen. After my wife's funeral I still remember Him coming up to me with the most honest statement of all I received that day. He said welcome to the club nobody wants to be in. Such honesty and said only by one who knows. May you rest in peace Dad #2 until we all meet again. Now go take Mrs. H out on a date! Love you!!!

Dear Brian, Peter, Laura and Family,
My heart is heavy with the news of your dad's passing. Countless childhood memories contain laughter and time spent with your family. As a parent, I can now truly appreciate your dad's ability to bellow, " Peter, Brian, Chris and Mandy! Knock it off!" up the stairs in one breath every time we were acting up. My deepest sympathies on your loss. I think of your family often. Take comfort knowing that your dad has been reunited with your wonderful mom and that they are never farther away than in your hearts.
Much Love,
Mandy
