Obituary of Billy P Reid

William "Billy" Patrick Reid, 60, of Green Brook, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, August 28, 2016. Billy previously lived in Fort Lee, and was born in the Bronx, NY. He was a member of the truck drivers Union Local #707, and worked for Howard Express. Billy was an avid New York Sports fan and loved watching the Yankees and Giants. He is survived by his Fiancé Lynn Crofton and her six siblings and her many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Also, survived by his mother Kathleen Valle, his brother Dean Reid. His niece Laura and nephew Dean. Billy is predeceased by his father Richard in 1999 and his brother Richard Jr. in 1982. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, from 2:00 – 4:00pm & 6:00 – 8:00pm at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, 10:00am at St. James Church, 184 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W. Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lynn Crofton to help cover Billy's medical care.
