Obituary of John Edward Rossman

John E. Rossman, M.D., 76, passed away on August 21, 2016. He was a physician at Morristown Medical Center and had a private practice specializing in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He retired in 2006 after more than a 30 year distinguishing career and will be remembered as a caring, skilled and compassionate physician. He studied pre-med at Northwestern University and Northern Illinois University College of Medicine. Dr. Rossman was an avid runner, fishing over 30 full marathons, with his personal best time of 3:30:02 at the New York City Marathon. He also enjoyed long distance bicycling and swimming. He was a long time active member of the Presbyterian Church in Morristown. He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Hemphill of Basking Ridge and his five children, Rochelle (Natick, MA), Jeffrey (Charlottesville, VA), David (Morristown, NJ), Todd (NYC) and Tracy (Bedminster, NJ) He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, his sister Virginia Erlanson (Chicago, IL) and his former wife, Nancy Rossman (Morristown, NJ). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 11:00am at the The Presbyterian Church on the Green, 57 East Park Place, Morristown, NJ.
