Obituary of Eric C Peterson

Eric Clinton Peterson, 71, of Port Monmouth NJ passed away suddenly on August 19,2016. Born in Derby, CT, he grew up in Bridgewater NJ and was a resident of Port Monmouth for the past 29 years. A 1963 graduate of Bridgewater Raritan High School, he received his B.A. in history from Ohio Wesleyan University where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. An Army veteran, Eric proudly served his country in Vietnam. After a successful career as editor of several business magazines, he remained active as a freelance writer and editor for his own company Media Solutions. He was an active volunteer for the Monmouth County Historical Association and Holiday Express where he enjoyed his role as The Grinch. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Phyllis, his daughter Samantha Peterson and his grandson Joseph La Rocca both of Stewartsville NJ, his sister Leslie Lyman of Salem, MA and brother-in-law, Joseph Latino of Bernardsville, NJ. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 9:00 - 11:00am at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
