Obituary of Louis Schiano

Louis Schiano passed away on Friday, August 5th. Louis is the beloved husband of Rita Manuele Schiano and father of Carolyn Kelly (and husband, Michael Kelly), Laura Schiano Celik (and husband, Utkan Celik), and Michael Schiano. Louis was the beloved Poppa of his grandchildren Michael, Catherine and Lauren Kelly and of daughters Carol Bianchi, Denise Houle and their families. He is survived by his loving brother and sister Anthony Schiano and Lena Schiano. Louis's first wife Jean Schiano predeceased him in 2004. Louis Schiano was a builder. He was always happiest at the beginning of a new project. He was honored to work on interior space at the World Trade Center, to site manage the building of NBC Studios as well as Rizzoli Bookstore in the World Financial Center. Years later he donated his skills to the Bernards Township Remembrance Foundation for the creation of the 911 Memorial in Dunham Park. Poppa Lou will always be remembered for his strong moral compass, good advice and his love of the holidays. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, 10:00am at Saint James Church, 184, S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge.
