Obituary of Suzanne Linda Gautier

Suzanne Linda Gautier (Suzy) 72, of Fanwood, passed away in her home on March 12. Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17th, 2016 with a Memorial Service at 5:30pm at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ. Suzy was born in Plainfield, New Jersey to Elizabeth (Woodroof) and Arsene Gautier on August 27, 1943. She graduated 9th in her class from Scotch Plains Fanwood High School in 1961. She earned her BA in Comparative Literature from Indiana University, where she also completed a Russian Studies program. Thereafter, she worked in New York City translating Russian documents and writing for Dell publishing. While she would go on to earn her living as an estate accountant, Suzanne pursued many interests; including writing, playing the piano, and spending time with her dear friends, children, and grandchildren. Suzy would perhaps be best known for her love of the Jersey Shore, inventing the Mensa award winning game Lapis, her knowledge of…everything, and dispensing her sage-like wisdom to those who needed it whether they wanted it or not. Suzanne is survived by her sister, Suzette, of Berkeley, CA; daughter Jennifer Taube Raphaels; son-in-law David Raphaels; daughter Molly Taube; son-in-law Clayton Williams; daughter Amy Taube Kaylor; son-in-law Adrian Kaylor; and her two beloved granddaughters: Elizabeth and Audrey Raphaels.
