Obituary of William Henderson, Jr.

Mr. William T. Henderson Jr. died in peace at his residence in Sequim, Washington, Saturday February 20, 2016. Mr. Henderson was born July 12, 1928, the son of William T. and Marie J. Henderson who were lifetime residents of South Orange. He attended Seton Hall Prep, and graduated from Seton Hall University in 1951. In 1953 he became a member of the New York Stock Exchange and joined his father, uncle, and cousins in the specialist firm of Charles F. Henderson & Sons. The firm was succeeded by Henderson Brothers Inc. in later years. Following his retirement, he lived in Stowe, VT and enjoyed extended stays in Savannah, Georgia, Santa Barbara, California and more recently in Sequim. He was predeceased by his beloved parents and devoted sister Marie J. Magnier. Mr. Henderson is survived by his son James L. Henderson and careperson Barbara Barow of Stowe, VT. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews and twenty-four grandnieces and grandnephews, affectionately known and revered as "Uncle Bill." Visitation will be held at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, on Monday, February 29, 2016 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, March 1, 2016, 10:00am at Christ the King Church, 16 Blue Mill Road, New Vernon. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cememtery, North Arlington.
