Pamela Kiernan posted a condolence
Monday, July 29, 2024
I missed you quietly today. So quietly that no one noticed.
I missed you as I climbed out of bed and as I brushed my teeth; when I waited at the lights on the drive into work and as I heard the rain outside my window.
I missed you as I ordered lunch and as I kicked off my shoes when I got home; as I switched off the lights and climbed into bed for the night.
I missed you without tears or noise or fanfare.
But oh how I felt it.
I felt it in the morning, at lunchtime, in the evening and at night. I felt it as I woke, as I waited, as I worked. I felt it at home, on the road, in the light, in the dark, in the rain.
I felt it in every one of those moments, each one sitting heavier and heavier as the weight of me missing you kept growing and growing.
Yes, I missed you so quietly today.
But I felt it so loudly.

Dear Pamela, Brian and Andrew,
Please accept my condolences on the passing of Pat. I remember always awaiting his arrival in Florida, going golfing and having dinner with him and my father. Always offering me caring advise, Pat had nothing but positive things to offer me, wether it was what to do in school, to how to deal with a childish situation I remember him fondly as not only a mentor but a great friend. Please also give my condolences to Nancy and Matt.

We knew Pat for a relatively brief amount of time at JPMorgan. From our first meeting, Pat stood out as a special person. He brought tremendous qualities of caring and kindness and was calm and practical when, all too often, all around him was chaos.
Pat was an incredibly warm person and, in every sense of the word, a true gentleman.
We'll miss him hugely and send our condolences to his family.

Dear Pam, Andrew, and Brian,
everyone knows I can be verbose at times, especially Pat, who used to warn me to keep it short and simple. I can almost feel him telling me the same now.
Pat was not just my manager for more than a dozen years. He was my mentor, confidant, brother sometimes and father other times. Most of all, he was a close, true friend.
My son Vincent and I grieve with you in your loss.
P.S. Pat was always happy to provide me personal references. There is one last big one still to come and I hope he obliges.......

Dear Pam, Brian and Andrew,
I am deeply saddened to hear the news yesterday. I only have great memories of Pat when he hired me in 1996 to the Bear Stearns PCQA team.
As you know, he was a great mentor and friend to me and showed me the way. He gave me my first chance as he believed in my potential.
He was the best manager to work for. He always fostered a great team environment and only encouraged us all to grow and created those opportunities for us.
And he was always there to pick the pieces when things went awry.
Although he was a manager at heart, he definitely liked his golf. I wish I played as well as he did but he sure did try to teach me along the way.
I know you all were were most important to him and we would always talk of how it was important to be there.
I remember when Brian and Andrew came to the office and always wanted to play. Now seeing you all grown to big taller men, made made him so proud.
I can only strive to be a man and father like him.
My deepest sympathies and love to you all.
