Obituary of Lynn B Tipson

Lynn Baird Tipson died on January 18 in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, at the age of 96. He was a retired business executive and a 1941 graduate of Princeton University. He also attended the Hill School and later received an MBA from NYU. Tipson served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and piloted eleven missions in a B-24 bomber until he was shot down, hospitalized, and sent to a German prison camp until liberation. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Yvonne Gaston Tipson, four children, Lynn Jr. of Gettysburg, PA, Frederick of Moorestown, NJ, David of Glenside, PA, and Suzy Hall of Milford, OH, as well as eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Tipson was born in Westfield, NJ, where his father was Mayor in 1928-29, and resided there, except for the war years, until 1967. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on January 30 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Basking Ridge with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
