Obituary of Marilyn G Hallowell

Marilyn G. Hallowell Marilyn Hallowell, Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, dies at 72. Marilyn Hallowell, 72 of the Basking Ridge section of Bernards Township, died on Monday October 26, 2015 Marilyn was born on July 17, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY. She lived in Brooklyn and Lynbrook, NY before moving to Basking Ridge in 1982. Shortly after graduating from St. Brendan's High School in Brooklyn, Marilyn married Walter Hallowell. Marilyn and Walter went on to enjoy forty nine wonderful years together before Walter's passing in 2013. During that time, Marilyn became an accomplished golfer, a hobby that she and Walter developed as members of Roxiticus Golf Club in Mendham. In addition to golf, Marilyn had a passion for the game of bridge, a pastime that allowed her to foster friendships that lasted for many years. She was truly loved by all, and will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness and generosity. She is survived by her loving daughters Denise Buckley and Christine Cox; and her five adoring grandchildren: Julia, Grace, Maeve, Brendan and James. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 29, 2015 from 3-6pm at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 30, 2015 at 10:00am at the Church of St. James, 184 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ. Interment will follow mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
