Obituary of Jack L Home

Jack Lee Lip Guey Home of Basking Ridge passed away peacefully on October 15, 2015 at Morristown Medical Center with family by his side. He was the first son of Bow Wee Wong Home and Thomas Yimgong Home to be born in the United States. He grew up in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, NY and went to Stuyvesant High School in NYC. He later attended Bucknell University where he met his future wife, Linda. He was president of his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. He left Bucknell to attend Baruch College, where he received his degree in accounting, and he later attended NYU for graduate studies. Mr. Home worked in the banking and brokerage financial area, having started out as a clerk. He always felt you should know the business from the ground up. Eventually he became a highly regarded consultant in his field. His work assignments often took him to many places around the world, where he enjoyed meeting new people, eating local cuisine, and experiencing other cultures. He also enjoyed traveling for pleasure with his wife, both overseas and within the United States. He and his wife have lived in Basking Ridge for the past 28 years, having previously resided in Staten Island, NY and Brooklyn, NY. He greatly enjoyed listening to music and trying a wide variety of foods. He was a diehard Yankees fan. He was generous and believed strongly in charitable causes, especially those for the developmentally disabled. He will be remembered for his friendliness, sense of humor, strong work ethic and love of family. He was predeceased by his parents; older brother Henry Lip Foo Lee; and older sister Wai Wan Lee Yip. He is survived by his loving wife Linda (nee Mount) of Basking Ridge, NJ; son Charles of Basking Ridge, NJ; daughter Melinda ("Mindy") and son-in-law Drew Katz of Melrose, MA; brother Lee Home and sister-in-law Nora of Edgewater, NJ; sister Faye and brother-in-law Ben Chin of Stirling, NJ and Punta Gorda, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Visitation will be Friday October 23rd from 4 to 7pm, with the funeral service on Saturday, October 24th at 11am, both at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations in memory of Jack L.
