Obituary of Stella Matthew

MOM, GRANDMA, BACI Stella Joanne Matthew of Union, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15th with her family beside her. Born in New York City and had resided in Irvington, NJ and then in Union, NJ for 56 years. Stella was a proud homemaker and devoted wife to her husband, William, for 70 years. She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who love life to the fullest. She loved the beach and spent many summer vacations at Long Beach Island, NJ. She touched the lives of many people and will be missed very much. Stella is survived by her husband, William, daughter and son-in-law, Christine and G. Michael Reischmann, grandson, Scott Reischmann and his wife Michelle Thresher Reischmann, granddaughter, Michelle and her husband, Ronald Klaiss. Six grandchildren, Ruth, Rachel, Naomi, Aidan, Noah and Jonah, nieces and nephew, Michael John, Annmarie and Joanne. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday, March 20th, from 4 to 7 PM at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home in Basking Ridge, NJ. A 10:00 AM funeral mass will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bernardsville, NJ. Burial will be Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Hanover, NJ.
