Obituary of Barbara Ann Smith

Barbara Ann Boulet Smith, age 82, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, died this morning in her home at Fellowship Village following a weekend gathering with all her children. Barbara was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts and moved to Basking Ridge with her husband William L. Smith in 1959, where she raised five children. She was active in St. James Church for many years, long ago serving as President of the Rosary Society. Following part-time and then full time work, Barbara retired at age 77 and moved from her home of 55 years to Fellowship Village in 2012. She loved to travel and never missed a family event whether it be a first communion, graduation or wedding. Barbara was predeceased by her husband in 1993. She is survived by her five children and eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Special Olympics of New Jersey-Area 5. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, 11:00 am at St. James Church, 184 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge. Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
