Obituary of Anne DeAngelis

Anne Luce DeAngelis, 82, of Basking Ridge, passed peacefully on Christmas Eve. The daughter of Donald Cameron Luce, Sr. and Edith Shotwell Luce, she was raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, spending summers along the New Jersey shore and Maine coast. Anne graduated from Endicott College in Beverly, MA and Katherine Gibbs in New York City. As a bright, elegant young lady, she married Charles E. DeAngelis and together raised their family in Mountainside, NJ before moving to Basking Ridge. Anne was a dedicated mother and grandmother who loved animals, gardening, music and walking. As a devoted mother, she spent summer and winter vacations in Hemlock Farms, PA, where she skied, skated, sailed, played golf and shared her daughter's passion for horses. Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charlie, and twin brother, Donald Cameron Luce, Jr. She is survived by her brother William Luce and his wife Shirley; her son Gregg DeAngelis, AIA and wife Antonietta; her daughter Lauren and husband, Roderic McLaughlin; and, grandchildren, Christopher, Marisa and Giuliana DeAngelis. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015. Colors and scotch plaids encouraged. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center and the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills.
