Obituary of Kelly Marie Devine

Kelly Marie Devine, 32, of Newport Beach, California, formerly of Basking Ridge and Bedminster, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at her home. Kelly was born April 13, 1982 in Marlton, NJ to parents Kevin and Jane. She spent her early years in Medford, NJ, before moving to Basking Ridge when she was six. She loved singing and soccer, and was involved in both at Ridge High School and Hunterdon Preparatory School. She was also active in musical theatre, and her beautiful voice filled the hearts of everyone who knew her. She studied at Raritan Valley Community College, and later achieved certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant. She worked at numerous medical offices in Somerset County. She was an Emergency Medical Technician and proud member of the Far Hills-Bedminster First Aid Squad, and used her medical training to respond to emergencies in the area. Kelly's lifelong passion was helping other people, and her work as a medical assistant, most recently at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, fulfilled her dreams of making people's lives better. She loved her job, and was beloved by her colleagues and patients. She devoted her life to aiding people in need, and she affected and improved so many lives. Kelly also held a special place in her heart for children and the elderly, who adored her immediately upon meeting her. She had recently moved to California, and loved living near the beach. She picked up surfing and embraced the beach lifestyle. But she remained a New Jersey girl at heart, relished her trips home to visit family, and never gave up on her much-loved New York Yankees. Kelly is survived and remembered lovingly by her parents, Jane Devine and Rich Grant of Bedminster, and Kevin and Nancy Devine of Whitehouse Station; her sister, Katie Devine of Santa Monica, CA; her grandfather, Joseph Pancheri; eight aunts and seven uncles; and many, many cousins, all of whom cherished her and miss her dearly. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm, and a memorial service will follow at 1pm at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home in Basking Ridge on Friday, November 28th.
