Obituary of Gordon F Jolliffe

Gordon F. Jolliffe, 96, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Francis E Parker Memorial Home, New Brunswick, NJ. Gordon was born and raised in Bernardsville, NJ. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Episcopal Church, Bernardsville. Gordon was employed by the Merrill Bus Company of Bernardsville, Spot Nails of Stirling and the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, Basking Ridge and Bernardsville where he assisted in the funeral home business and held many responsibilities overseeing the maintenance of the facilities and automotive equipment. After retiring from full time employment in 1981, Gordon continued to assist the funeral home for many years. During World War II, Gordon served his country proudly in the United States Army. He is predeceased by his wife Kathleen in 2007. He is survived by his son Gary Jolliffe and his wife Arlene Shults of Little Egg Harbor NJ. Also surviving are, four grandchildren, Robert W. Hefferman Jr., Bridgewater and Deborah Morone of Middlesex, Wallace Shults of Cherry Hill, Christina Jasion of Norfolk, Va, four great grandchildren Michelle Maddock, Katie Morone, Matthew Hefferman and Kate Shults and two great great grandchildren, Andrew Maddock and Ava Marie Maddock . Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 9:00 – 11am at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge. Funeral Service will follow at 11:30am at St. Bernard’s Church, 88 Claremont Road, Bernardsville, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Bernardsville, NJ.
