Obituary of Karen Ann Salvatore

Karen Ann Salvatore, 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 28, 2013, in Mississippi surrounded by her family. Karen was born in Newark, New Jersey, and moved to Irvington where she lived for over 50 years. In 2007, she moved to Bloomington, Indiana, and then to Starkville, Mississippi to be closer to her son and his family. Karen loved to cook and will always be remembered for her baking. She was a loving Mother, Daughter, Grandmother, and Aunt, and gained great joy from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She had a feisty personality, and never let illness or other limitations keep her from enjoying life and making plans to travel. She will forever be missed. Karen was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Joseph and Diane Salvatore, and her Brother, Alan Salvatore.  She is survived by her Son and Daughter-in-law, Anthony and Yasmiyn Murphy of Mississippi and Grandchildren, Alexis and Anthony, her Nephew, Rocco Salvatore of Minnesota, and her Niece and Niece's husband, Gina and Robert D’Amato of New Jersey and Great-Nephews, Joseph, Andrew, and Nicholas. A liturgy of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday November 5, 2013 at 10am at the Church of St. James, 184 Mt Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ followed by entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ on Monday November 4, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
