Obituary of David A Schiappa

David A. Schiappa, 51, of Asbury, NJ, formerly of Basking Ridge passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, September 26, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.  David was born on October 6, 1961 and grew up in Basking Ridge before settling in Asbury.  He was a 1979 graduate of Ridge High School and later founded his own company, Eastern Orthodontics.  His best memories were those spent during the summer months on Long Beach Island.  He will be greatly missed by his family and many wonderful friends. David is survived by his father, Richard Schiappa, and his wife, Penny , of Basking Ridge; his mother, Patricia Schiappa, of Far Hills; his children, Portia, Branden and Avery; his sisters and their husbands, Leslie and Steven Ritardi of Mendham; and Kathryn and Shawn Jean of Bedminster; and nephews, Michael and John; and niece, Ava. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a service on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home.
