Obituary of Susan M Bryant

After a long courageous battle with cancer, Susan Mary Bryant, passed away peacefully, on September 26 2013 at The Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, surrounded by her loving family. Susan was born November 15, 1947 in Washington DC to parents, James and Mary Walsh Bryant. She is survived by a brother, James and sister in law, Carolyn Bryant, Wernersville Pa. a brother David Bryant, Justus Pa. and her sister, Jeanne Bryant South Abington Twp. Pa., a niece, Heather Bryant, Justus and her finance Daniel Angerson, nephews, David J. Bryant, Throop, Pa., Jonothan Bryant, Jessup Pa.,nephew Matthew Bryant and his wife, Kirsten Bryant, Chapel hill, North Carolina, and a great nephew, Cole Bryant and numerous cousins. Susan graduated from St. Paul's High School in Scranton Pa. She trained at Scranton State Hospital as an x-ray technician. She moved to Morristown New Jersey and was employed by Morristown General Hospital. After relocating to Baskin Ridge NJ. she was employed at AT&T Employee Health Care Center until her retirement. Her parents James Bryant and Mary Walsh Bryant preceded her in death along with her aunt, Mercedes Walsh Lynch and her uncle, Hugh Lynch. Uncle David Walsh and Ann Walsh who also preceded her in death, provided a loving home for her and her siblings after the untimely passing of their parents. Susan was kind toward others and loving toward all her family and friends. Her courage and spirit will serve as an inspiration to those whose lives she touched. Her faith and devotion to God, The Blessed Mother and her church and her commitment to her immediate family were unequaled. She will leave a hole in the heart to anyone who knew her. We can only hope to follow her example of selfless devotion to others. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and trusted friend. A person who always made others feel special. She possessed a spontaneous sense of humor, an uncommon patience and an extraordinary love. Many people will feel her void. Sharing fine wine and great food with loved ones and friends gave her great delight. She enjoyed decorating her home and liked helping others find just the right piece to make it perfect. She was devoted to her dogs Hannah and Lacy and always loved with an open heart. Contributions may be made to Cocheco Valley Humane Society, 262 County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820. Susan's family will be forever grateful for the kindness and loving compassionate care provided by her devoted friends, through out her illness. A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains New Jersey for their attention to her needs and constant compassionate care. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ from 1:00 – 2:30 pm. Funeral Mass will follow at 3:00 pm at St. James Church, Finley Ave, Basking Ridge.
