While it is difficult to see you go, I am at ease knowing you no longer have to struggle and have reached a better place. I have 23 years of wonderful memories to be reminded of each day I am missing you. Whether stocking the cookie jar before every visit, going to Giant games, sharing interest in a career on Wall Street, or discovering that you yourself could be Pope. Growing up you never said goodbye, but rather al vida zein because we would see each other again soon. Well, al vida zein Granddad, I will be seeing you again. But until then, you will be greatly missed and certainly never forgotten. Love Always, Kelly

Dad, I'll never forget our basketball games in Bernardsville as you taught me NYC rules. Who knew that putting your knee in the back of your opponents knee was not a foul. I love you and will keep you in my heart forever.

Dad~ Where do I begin. Thank you for giving me permission to marry MaryPat and accepting me as part of your family. So many memories... So many good times... Holiday Parties, Birthdays, Beach House gatherings, and the Belmar St. Patrick's Parade. The one thing I will treasure most of all is that you become the Father Figure in my life when I lost my Dad. I thank you! Love you, John

Like many Bernardsville teenagers, I spent a lot of time in the McDonald house. Mr. McDonald always took time to find out what was going on in our lives and then share life advice in everything from work to poker - usually from the comfort of his recliner. While he always had a great story, what I will remember most is how he welcomed everyone into his home and treated us like family.

It was nice to read the loving comments from family and friends. Mare he taught me that stepping on the other players foot was not a foul either. Eddie he was really just trying to see if you guys were drinking in the basement. I was watching NCIS today and a fitting ending to the show that applies here was Gibbs saying Semper FI Dad.

Dad, I can't thank you enough for the man you and Mom raised to become the man I would marry. Besides knowing that Sean and I were meant to be together, there are so many parallels between our two families (both sets of parents starting out in Parkchester, both raising six kids, and the youngest marrying each other, etc.) that I know I was meant to be part of your family. I will always treasure your humor and your stories. Rest easy now. We'll carry you in our hearts.
Love,
Kathy

Dad. my second attempt today. I felt you looking over my shoulder, so I figured you wanted more imput. I start by saying to you how proud I am to be your son and how grateful I am to know you loved me throughout it all. When I was too young to realize it, all you ever wanted for me was the best of each and every opportunity that life offered to me Boy Scouts, Delbarton, my introduction to your family's business on Wall Street and of course the lesson of committment through thick and thin, The Giants. Most of the way I fought with you tooth and nail, for that I again apologize. The other many teachings you brought into my life, common courtesy and manners, love of family and friends, your code of Honor, Courage and Loyalty. The lessons on the basketball court, over the pool table, the hundred dollars in dimes you gave me to learn and play flashomatic bowling. The memories I will always have of those crazy trips to the NIT'S with your buddies and their sons, The House on the Haunted Hill, your graceful and natural skills on the bowling lanes in Bernardsville, roaring whenever you saw the MGM Lion, sitting in your chair sharing your wisdom with my friends when I couldn't see it, never turning any of my buddies away when they needed help, your laughter, to hear you call me Jerome because I was only in trouble when you called me Jerry. Thank you.
But the greatest blessing you ever gave me was never giving up on me. With all the sh** I handed you for all those many years, I can truly thank God that I found my back to my father, Dad, and though you would have never said so my best friend. Your advice to me through my middle adult years never led me wrong and I actually listened now knowing you had always had what was best for me at heart. I will miss your physical touch, your tender kiss on my forehead, your larger then life prescence in this world. But your last lesson you have always tried to instill in me has finally hit home, your faith. Now that I can share that with you, you shall always be at my side, guiding me with your wisdom and love whenever I ask. For that I am blessed. Dad you were here every day your God chose you to be. I selfishly wanted you lifted from the pain of your disease. A disease you handled with the dignity, the courage and the faith you exhibited throughout your long life. For the rest of my life when anyone ever says to me " You are just like your Father", I will smile towards heaven and respond, "Thank you for the gracious compliment. Semper Fi, soldier! Rest in Peace Dad

Dad, it is time to rest knowing you leave the world better off by the family you leave in your place. A family that grew stronger while others may have withered, a testament to your faith. A family, and daughter, who made me a better person. Thank you for those gifts and enjoy the peace you deserve until we meet again and the Manhattans are on me. Love Al
