Emanuele Sgaramella Beloved husband, father, grandfather, 80
Emanuele Sgaramella a Morristown resident passed away on Wednesday, April 28 in his home with his family by his side.
A Liturgy of Christian burial will be held on Monday, May 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Bernardsville followed by entombment at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge on Sunday, May 2 from 11 to 3 p.m. Donations can be made to Morristown Memorial Health Foundation Fund, POB 1956, Morristown, NJ 07962. Emanuele was born in Palace, Italy and moved to Modugno in the Puglia region of Italy. After marrying his wife, Teresa Cantatore in 1954, they came to the United States via the Andrea Doria and settled in New York City until moving to Brooklyn and then Staten Island. He was employed as a master tailor by Petrocelli clothing and Paul Stuart in NYC. In 1976 he moved to Morristown where he and his wife became proprietors of A & L Men's Shop until they retired in 1989.
He was an avid gardener, traveler and investor but his first priority and his love was his family.
In addition to his wife Teresa he is survived by is his daughter, Cris Maffei and husband Frank, sons, Vito and wife Val, Anthony and wife Suzanne, grandchildren, Lauren, Ali, Celia, Joey, Michael and Olivia, his brothers Antonio of Rome, Italy, Giuseppe, sisters, Rosa and Maria all of Long Island and sisters in law and brothers in law and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Donato and sister Anna.
