Obituary of Benjamin B Robertson

Benjamin Bryan Robertson, Jr. (86) of Basking Ridge, N.J., entered eternity on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Bryan, the son of Benjamin and Carlotta Denten Robertson, was born in Burlingame, California. Bryan served in the United States Army from 1946-47. Bryan was a stock and bond trader and held positions with various firms during his career. With Mitchum, Jones & Templeton he was an over-the-counter trader; with Charles Schwab & Co., he was head of the customer trading desk in San Francisco and subsequently a vice-president and manager of the Dallas, Texas office. He was a partner with J. Barth & Co., trading for the Los Angeles and San Francisco offices. He was a member of the former San Francisco Stock Exchange and retired at age 68 in 1994. During retirement, Bryan served as a volunteer with California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, prior to relocating to New Jersey in 1998 upon his marriage to Marie Becker Kelly. He enjoyed classical music, was a supporter of the San Francisco Symphony, and he was an avid sportsman, enjoying skiing, tennis and sailing with friends and colleagues. Predeceased by his sister, Nancy Maloney, Bryan is survived by his widow, Marie Kelly Robertson, and his niece Sheila Maloney. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 9:00 – 11:00 am at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Funeral Service will follow at the Lyons VA Hospital Chapel, 151 Knollcroft Road, Lyons, NJ. 11:00 am. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
