My most vivid memories of Roger were:
1) In the early nineties when we were home as a family in the summer from being overseas being together as an extended family either at Bev's or at Roger's home and all the fun that everyone's children had swimming in the pools. Roger was always very much consciencious of family back then with particular focus on our scottish heritage.
2) At Uncle Jimmie's funeral, I was having a very difficult time in dealing with his death. Was my first experience with the death of a close family member. I don't remember the exact words Roger said but they were a comfort and strength to me. I also remember that I felt amazed at how well he appeared to me to be coping with his father's death.
Now it is a joy to comtemplate that Roger is united with his mom, dad, grammie, grandpa, my parents, Aunt Ollie, all his scottish ancestors and that his physical suffering has ended.

Roger, you were the big brother I never had. I fondly remember the days when you were at High Point College and you would thumb a ride to our house for the weekend. Good times.
Rest in peace, cousin, you will be missed. "Until we meet again."
Love you!

Roger, you have the most amazing family, those with you now, and those you left behind. Lynne and John took great care of you in your later years and you can ALL rest now. We are so happy to also have a good relationship with Beth & Jen, who have grown into two wonderful young adults. You will be missed. Bev and Don
