I worked with Joyce at NJ Audubon. Her love and care for the organization were evident in every meeting I had with her. During a difficult time I had, she was very caring and made special accommodations for me which were very helpful and I will always remember her for that. RIP in Joyce.

I've known Joyce since I was in 7th grade. Always gracious, always kind. Kept in touch with her thru the years. Glad she had 51 years with Steve, the love of her life. My condolences to the Haines and Fajnor families. Sincerely Gail Howell Bell

Albeit not blessed to have known Joyce in life my reading tributes posted herein from those that did revealed to me the fact she was an exceptionally kind and loving person who worked to help make our world a better place. Hence I believe her love’s light still shines down to us from her star now situated where saints and angels reside. All who loved her in life will come to see her again. My sincere condolences to you Steve, to your family, and to all who loved Joyce during her Earthly life..

Joyce will surely be missed. I loved popping in to her office, stealing some chocolate, and having some light-hearted conversation about her grandchildren that she loved so dear. May her memory be eternal!

Joyce was one in a million…it was an honor to work with her at NJ Audubon. Her sense of compassion, strong moral compass, sage advice, and humor made her a true gem, good friend and confidant. From her tolerance of redecorating her office Halloween style to her wisdom and advocacy for staff, I will be forever in her debt with gratitude. Big hugs to the Fajnor family which she brought with her to NJ Audubon!

I had the honor to work alongside Joyce through my involvement with NJ Audubon. Joyce always had a way of making me laugh with a single word and look, while maintaining professionalism and work ethic I think few can achieve. She was honestly the backbone and glue tying so many together, and is sorely missed. I remember always trying to convince her to take more days away, and the only thing that would sway her was spending time with her family, especially when the grandkids were home from college. Joyce was truly a class act all around and I will miss our conversations together. My sincerest condolences to the family, you meant so much to her. (I also want to acknowledge how much she hated the spotlight, though it never shined on her nearly enough.)
