Obituary of Ruth I Billich
December 15, 1925 - November 23, 2024
The angels came for Ruth on November 23, 2024 at the age of 98 when she peacefully went home to be with her Lord.
She was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and resided in Kenilworth most of her life.
She is predeceased by her husband of 31 years Nick Caruso, her parents Leo and Louise Minch, her sisters Vivienne Wehrle, Arlene Savoca, and her brothers Lee Minch and Raymond Minch.
She is also predeceased by her beloved grandson Frank Caruso III and her second husband of 10 years, Edmond Billich.
She is survived by her sister Helene (Babe) Limone of Santa Barbara, CA. Ruth is also survived by her son Frank Caruso (partner Danelle) of Dover, TN, Lori and Nick Rizzo of Boca Raton, FL, and Gary and Linda Caruso of Port Orange, FL, her grandchildren Nicole Belissario (Freddy), Cara Palschacov (Paul), Sheri Scordley (Vincent), Philip Rizzo (Jennifer), and Jonathan Caruso. In addition, she is survived by 15 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren (and growing).
Known as Mom, Grammy, ReRe and Ruthie to so many, Ruth loved her family and her home was the hub of all family gatherings, especially Sundays and holidays. She loved her church and regularly attended Long Hill Chapel in Chatham, NJ for many years. She was an avid bowler, talented seamstress, and great listener. She laughed easily and even at 98 still watched every Yankee game and would talk about the latest scores and lineups with her sons, grandsons and great grandsons.
Donations in memory of Ruth can be made to Morristown Medical Center, Palliative Care Unit.
A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
