Obituary of Ann M D'Amato

Ann Marie D'Amato: A Life filled with endless Love, Kindness and Caring
With extremely heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ann Marie D'Amato, beloved mother, grandmother

and aunt, who passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024 at the age of 84. Ann’s life was a testament to the strength of love, the joy of family and selfless devotion.
Ann was born in Staten Island, NY to Joseph and Josephine Cucchia. From an early age, Ann and her younger brother, Stephen, embraced the importance of family, learning from their parents the values of kindness, hard work and unconditional love. These lessons became the foundation of her life, and they shaped the way she raised her own children and grandchildren.

Ann married Tony in 1961 and together they built a life full of love and devotion to each other and their entire family. Their 63 years of marriage are an incredible example for all of us to follow. Ann enjoyed watching her sons play baseball, especially the year when they both won the championship at Staten Island Little League. The highlight of her year was when Ann and Tony hosted holidays with the entire family. Whether it was Thanksgiving with cardone, Christmas Eve with the famous pizza or New Years Eve in the basement with sausage and peppers, she found joy in bringing the family together.

The highlight of Ann’s professional life was working at Monsignor Farrell High School. Ann started as a volunteer working the switchboard eventually becoming responsible for all the finances of the school. She formed life-long friendships with her coworkers and the principal of the school, Monsignor Bergen.

After retirement Ann and Tony moved to Bedmister, NJ in 2003 to watch their grandchildren grow up. Ann enjoyed having her grandchildren over for sleepovers and cooking them pancakes and bacon for breakfast. She rarely missed a little league game or a dance recital. The annual family trip to LBI along with a cruise to celebrate Ann and Tony’s 50th wedding anniversary created incredible memories for her kids and grandkids.

Ann is now reunited with her son, Anthony, who passed away earlier this year. She is survived by her husband, Anthony, her son Robert and his wife Gina, daughter-in-law Nancy and her grandchildren Joseph, Andrew, Matthew, Nicholas and Megan. Ann is also survived by her brother, Stephen and his wife, Adrienne along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In memory of Ann and in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Kidney Fund or Goryeb Children's Hospital at Morristown Medical Center
