Obituary of Richard T Frankel
Richard Frankel passed away on 6 November 2024 after a short bout of illness.
Born in Brooklyn to Millie and Joseph, Richard was an only child and grew up with a fascination of World War II (in which his father, Joseph, and uncle, Murray, proudly served and were highly-decorated) that Richard developed into a rich knowledge base that persisted for decades, particularly of the pacific theatre and aircraft. Although Richard was fascinated with aviation and the greatest generation, his life took him through many different adventures, including being a detective in New York, financial business consultant in New Jersey, hiker, and his favorite adventure of all: being a father. Richard was a man of many facets, funny stories, and firm guidance. He was steadfast, stable, and occasionally silly. He gave sound advice, listened very closely to what was said and not said, and was the person in the room everyone gravitated toward and raved about afterward.
He is survived by his three children, Jon, Dani, and Amanda as well as by his three grandchildren, Alyssa, Cason, and Carter. He will be missed dearly.
Chapel Service will be held at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mount Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 11:00am.
